Facts About Me

I got this idea from a bookmark one of my students gave me, which lists a question for each letter of the alphabet. I thought it would be a fun way for you to get to know me!

Author you love? That’s a tough one, because I love so many books and authors. I’d say for adult books it would be Ally Blue and Rob Thurman, and for young adult and intermediate books, Mary Downing Hahn and Patrick Carman. But ask me tomorrow because it could change…

Best friend? My cat, Scout. 😉

Can’t live without? Coffee. Oh lord how I love my coffee. Also books. I can’t live without books, either.

Dream destination? Well, I’ve been to Japan twice, so I should probably update that. I would really love to see Italy and Egypt, too. Egypt for the ancient history and Italy for Venice. I don’t care of people say the canals smell. I still want to go and see the incredible architecture.

Energy drinks? Nope. Not unless coffee counts. I hate those things.

Favorite food? Pasta. I love spaghetti and noodles, and just yum. So good!

Greatest achievement? Getting Andy Squared published!

Hometown? Bristol, Connecticut.

Innermost fear? I have a lot of fears. Spiders. Being alone in the dark. Clowns. Blue holes (look them up). Deep water if I can’t see the bottom or I can see it and there are weeds.

Just finished reading? This will change about five hours from updating this, but the most recent finish was Greg Honey by Russ Gregory. It’s a hilarious mystery and it will be released in September from Bold Strokes Books. Check it out!

Kindle? Yup! I have a first generation Kindle. The one that’s tapered on the side and has tilted keys. I love it. It makes me feel like I have a data pad from Star Trek. Though I think maybe the Kindle Fire would make me feel even MORE like that…

Love to read? That’s a silly question for me. Of course I love it! I read 103 books in 2012. My goal was 100. Wish I had even more time to read.

Makes you laugh? My cat, Scout. She’s more like a dog half the time. Very strange animal.

Number one movie? What genre? I love Transformers. I also love Labyrinth (ahhh, Jareth…) and District 9.

One wish? For Andy Squared to touch just one reader. I’d be very happy with that.

Pizza or pasta? Pasta of course!

Quote that describes you? “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.”  ―      Mark Twain

Reading now? This will also change about five hours after I update this. Currently I’m reading The Actor and the Earl by Rebecca Cohen. Pretty good so far.

Siblings? I have two sisters, both younger than me. Shout out to Tiffany and Cassandra. HEEEEEE~Y!!

Time of the day? I love night. Mornings and I just don’t get along well. I’m more awake at night than I am during the day, even if I was exhausted before darkness falls.

Underachiever or overachiever? Overachiever. By the time I was 18 I was a supervisor of a clothing store, and ever since then I’ve held some sort of management position until I got my teaching job. And now, well, my classroom is a monarchy and I am the queen. 😉 I also cannot be satisfied with just one job. I enjoy working. Besides teaching I work a small shop on the weekend and write. Three jobs! Love it.

Vanilla or chocolate? Chocolate. But if it’s ice cream, mint chocolate chip. Or coffee if it’s Haagan Daas. Ooooh, or green tea if it’s soft serve and I’m in Japan. SO GOOD. Can’t forget Gifford’s Black Raspberry either.

Worst habit? I bite my nails when I’m nervous. I also play with my hair when I’m bored.

X-ray vision or wings? Wings! I would love to be able to fly around. How graceful would that be? I think I would want wings like a red-tailed hawks. Not traiditonal white wings like Angel from X-Men.

Your favorite song? A like a lot of Adam Lambert’s songs. My favorite for years was Seal’s “Kiss from a Rose.” I just loved the way it sounded. Even songs people wouldn’t normally like I enjoy just because of the musical composition. Some songs put me in a sort of catharsis.

Zodiac sign? Pisces! And it describes me 100%! March 13th is my birthday.
